For the AICE media studies AS, music marketing project, I chose to be in a group of 5 people. Two of which I had previously worked with, and two who I had never worked with. I admit, I had my doubts as to whether or not we would be able to do well on this project out of worry that our creative views would clash. However, I was thankfully wrong. These two group members were able to offer unique ideas that added “flavor” to our music video portion of the project.
We started by receiving our music genre, which was r&b and rap, then by discussing people’s strengths and weaknesses. We discussed how my partner and I enjoy photo editing, so we would be incharge of developing the artist’s style and marketing. The other three people in my group worked on developing the story board and planning for the music video featuring a song in the r&b genre. Here is an image of the storyboard planning:
Within the first week of research, my group and I decided to use Atlanta Records and Universal Music Group, because they are currently the record labels with the highest number of r&b artists in the United States. After completing the Music Research chart, we developed a plan in order to complete the filming of the video in two days. Since one of my partners is proficient in Adobe Premiere, he offered to be in charge of video editing, with the help of the other four of us to speed up the process.
